We would like to introduce you to “Flow Country” designs by Dave Arnold. He has designed his art with surfing/SUP enthusiats in mind. The beautiful and very classy artwork is featured here on our web site. We welcome Dave as one of newest sponsors who provides our members a 15% discount on his artwork. A message from Dave-
WOOD IN FLOW MOTION
In essence, I am trying to capture a moment of life on a wave.
These figures are shaped from teak and black walnut.
They’re either free-standing or mounted on a natural ‘wave’ background of foraged trunks from the local marshes. Below are a few pieces of the collection.
I thought you’d enjoy showcasing these in your home, office,
or as a centerpiece in your place of business.
Commission work for unique shapes and dimensions
available upon request.

Thanks for your support!
Start listening to the radio station-WGNI, 102.7, http://www.wgni.com/ for a chance to win one of Greg Eavey’s personal surfboards. He has donated this wave riding machine from his past as a supporter of WBLA and what we do for the community! This promo begins October 1 and runs thru Novemeber 30. One lucky winner will take home Eavey’s personal surfboard and have an extra present for the Holidays!
We will also be having a drive by lunch pick-up in the Surf City Surf Shop parking lot sometime in late Oct/early Nov. Its going to be called the Herb Low Country Boiler Special. Details to follow on this great tasting event! Tickets will be pre-sold in advance for this heavy duty lunch and then all you do is drive by in the parking lot and pick-up!
All proceeds to benefit our outreach for less fortunate brothers and sisters and the WBLA scholarship Program.
My name is Casey Errante and I am currently working as an intern for the Orange County Rape Crisis Center. We are having our 25th annual Holiday Auction in December, and appreciate any type of donations for our auction since it helps our organization grow and continue to support the community. This year, we are looking to put together several vacation packages, and I am helping to put one together for Wilmington since having spent the first 18 years of my life in Wilmington I know how enjoyable the beach is. I was wondering if you could pass on this message to the WBLA to see if anyone would be willing to or knows of anyone who could donate a surfboard, surf lesson, or any type of donations that would contribute to a vacation package (hotels, food, fun activities etc). I have attached a little more information about our center, auction, and donating items (all items are tax deductible as well).
Thank you so much and hope to hear from you,
Intern, Orange County Rape Crisis Center
Hello WBLA friends, I am volunteering with Courts & Sports for a fund-raising volleyball, cornhole AND dodgeball tournament on Saturday, September 29th benefiting the Pretty In Pink Foundation. PIPF helps breast cancer champions aka patients once they have been diagnosed with cancer by paying for their treatments! They are a local organization and all the funds raised at this tournament will benefit local women and yes men!
We are in desperate need of “swag” for the participant bags and/or items to be raffled. I’ve attached a PDF of the sponsorship packet that has more details about the Pretty In Pink Foundations & the tournament. If you can help or know someone who might be interested in helping please let me know ASAP. The tournament is only 3 weeks away!
Oh yeah! There will also be a “Pink Drink” contest with 4 Courts & Sports bartenders competing to win the best “Pink Drink” and have their drink featured at the Pretty In Pink Fashion Show in November. The “ballot” to vote is only $5 & you get to try all four drinks for that price! And after the tournament “Two Cents Worth” a local Acoustic Rock and Blues group will be performing from 6-8pm. It will be lots of fun!
Volleyball, Dodgeball, Cornhole, “Pink Drink” contest, Raffle Prizes, Live Music, what more could you want?!?!
Help in anyway you can will be greatly appreciated! Thank you & I hope to hear from you soon, April
